The craze of video on the internet has taken hold, allowing what used to be a for-tv-only media to be streamed straight to your computer. There has been a massive surge in the amount of video on the
nternet to the point where it has become almost unmanageable, and finding worthwhile videos almost impossible.

Free video blogs are a fantastic way to organise these videos in a sensible and logical way. Going to places like YouTube, Google Video, iFilm, DailyMotion, Metacafe, MySpace and GoEar for the videos is a good start for your search. Heading straight for the most popular videos might be a good way to save time finding good ones, but you might end up with more pop videos that you wanted. Even with the less popular videos the voting does indicate if it is really terrible or watchable.

But the question is, once you find these good videos, where are you going to put them?

Will they just sit in your bookmarks in your web browser, where no-one, probably not even yourself will ever look at them again? Will they just be forgotten? Will you add a long, ugly list of links on your blog which no-one will ever actually look at? Or will you go for the best option: free video blogs.

In essence, free video blogs allow you to insert these videos from the big name sites into your own blog, which might just be one of the many amateur blogs, where you can organize them into categories, add something of relevence to the video and allow others to comment on what they see. The videos appear right there on your site. They don't need to click anywhere as the videos will appear right where you want them to, on your webpage, making your commentary stand out.

With free video blogs you don't actually have to worry about the upload and storage of the videos, which is all on the internet already, and served up by the big players on the Internet, you just take that what they have and put it together for all the world to see.

Internet marketing is, in many ways, for more details visit to www.popups-generator.com similar to all other forms of marketing in the past fifty years. Certainly the dynamics of the Internet make it unique, but it does provide a sense of commonality when viewed from a practical standpoint.

For instance, twenty years ago brick and mortar businesses were concerned about what their competitors were doing and how to stay in the same league. This mentality is found online. When an online business works at pinpointing their competitors
and discovers ways to do certain things better that business stand a better chance of succeeding. This process is part of the marketing strategies needed for successful online business.

Some of the potential downfalls in Internet marketing is to assume that 1) you know what the customer wants intuitively, 2) you know the best methods of reaching these customers and 3) you dont really need to do significant marketing to ensure the success of your online firm.

The end goal of online marketing hasnt changed, but some of the methods have. You still want customers to visit your website, but the truth is you may not always know what the customer wants, you may have to work to learn methods that can actually bring customers to your website and marketing is ESSENTIAL to your online success.

Sometimes the marketing tools you use may not have a very good Return on Investment (ROI). You may think that this was a poor use of your money, but it may affect positive marketing exposure long-term. It is also possible to develop a product that may not actually sell very well, but could reduce the overall profitability of a competitor. This may sound like a strange marketing tool, but you have to remember you are not in the market alone. Understanding your competitor may be equally important to understanding your customer and how to potentially level the playing field.

Contrary to popular opinion you do not have to offer the lowest product cost to find a customer base. For instance, you can visit a common discount store and find cheep hand lotion that is likely to be effective in moisturizing. for more details visit to www.paylock-generator.com However, this wont stop customers from visiting (and spending more) for similar products at an exclusive lotion shop that offers an array of scents and applications.

The same is true of your products online; there may be ample reason to charge more for a product, not the least of which is quality. Trust comes with time, but proper Internet marketing tactics, which are neither easy nor ineffective, assists it.

Know your product, know your customer and know your competition.

All of us want to increase traffic to our web sites. It helps
our search engine rankings, and provides us with potential new
customers. One of the best, and certainly least expensive, ways
to do that is by exchanging links with sites similar to our own.
However, you don't have to accumulate very many links before it
becomes difficult to keep track of them all. Many of them have
similar sounding (or identical!) names, descriptions and even
URL's. Let me suggest a simple way to keep track of them so you

on't embarrass yourself and annoy others by requesting to
exchange links with someone more than once. Create a simple
spread sheet with four columns and no more that 51 rows; one row
for titling your columns, and 50 for listing links. Search
engines do not like link pages with more than 50 links, so if you
make your spread sheet only capable of holding 50 items, you
won't exceed that arbitrary level. Each link page on your site
will be a separate sheet in your spread sheet file. You can
rename the tabs along the bottom to match the page titles on your
web site if that helps you keep track. Your four columns will
be "Title," "Description," "Page/Location," and "URL." Take the
first link page on your site and just type in the info. Copy and
paste may or may not work as some software insists on copying the
hyperlink info as well and makes necessary stuff like wrapping
text difficult or impossible. The page/location column is used to
code which link page you have the placed the reciprocal link
onto, and where up and down the page. For instance, the first
link on your page one is coded 1.01. The 12th link on page 2 is
coded 2.12. The 18th link on page 3 is coded 3.18, and so on.
Once you have done that, have your software alphabetize the page.
The links will then be arranged in alphabetical order so you can
easily find whatever you are looking for. Additions to
not-yet-completed pages can just be added to the bottom, and then
re-alphabetized. Try it!

SEO Mistakes list

เขียนโดย admin | 19:33

Web site optimization, SEO tools, websites, search engine optimization

Website promotion requires certain basics. People often commit common mistakes while promoting their websites. Such SEO mistakes can be avoided or corrected if little care is taken about it. Some of these mistakes are listed as under-

Target the wrong keywords

People often make and define the wrong keywords that are not at all searched. So proper keyword analysis should be done Wrong keywords take you no where. Your Search Engine Optimizat
on Company becomes successful only on choosing the right keywords.

Ignore the title tag

Search Engines give more preference to title tag these days rather than other Meta tags. Some people leave this tag empty. In fact title tag is the most important place to have keywords. This affects your search results as page title does not exist when you ignore this title tag.

Flash website without html

Flash is attractive only to the users but not to the search engine spiders. If you make a flash website to attract the users and strictly want to promote it in search engines then it is better to provide the alternative html version along with it. As search engines can not read the flash content and also not able to index it, so it becomes necessary to create the html version.

Use JavaScript Menus

Search engine do not read the JavaScript. In case you think it is necessary to use it in the website, you should build a site map. You can also build a no script tag. This will make your links get easily crawl by search engine spiders.

Too much concentration on Meta tags

Search engines these days do not give much preference to the Meta tags as it was in the past. You can not ignore the Meta tags but don't spend too much time on it and think to rank well only because of this. These days there are various other promotion methods also available along with the content optimization.

Back link spamming

Back links are always considered as good but people resort to the practices of collecting back links through link farms which could get your site banned. Do not emphasize on quantity of back links rather than the quality links. It's the quality that counts in the end.

Lacks of keywords in the content

some people write the content which has no keywords. These days search engines give more preference to content rather than to Meta tags. So content mixed along with keywords has become important part of content optimization. Use only images for headings

Many people use images in headings with the concept of making an attractive site but in Search Engine Optimization terms images in headings and menus proves to be a big mistake. H1, H2 tags and menu links are important Search Engine Optimization Items which must contain the important keywords or alternative tags in images.

Ignore Urals

some people define the URL without any idea. Define the keywords in the URL. This will give you additional preference over your competitors. Keyword in URL is more important in Yahoo and MSN but Google also gives preference to it when the relative weight of keyword is high.

The ebook is perhaps the most popular digital product in the online marketplace today. It's not expensive to produce, it can be distributed almost instantly, and the profit margins are extremely high. Those factors provide tremendous opportunities for the creative marketer to explode ebook sales virtually overnight.

The Web has become the place millions of people turn to everyday for news and information about things that interest them. It has also become the new frontier for hoards of people who are serious (or c
rious) about earning an income from home.

The astute marketer can use these two factors in conjunction with today's digital technology to supply a worthwhile need and earn an impressive income at the same time. This scenario is ideal for what I call the "darling product" of the Internet — the ebook.

The ebook has unique features and capabilities that make it the preferred format for packaging and distributing various types of information all across the globe in just seconds.

It is suitable for inspirational stories, tutorials, complex technical information, and can even accomodate graphics, audio files, video files as well as links to Web sites anywhere on the Internet.

Here now are six ways you can leverage these versatile characteristics to sell more ebooks and earn yourself a comfortable income for years to come.

1. Provide Internet users with the information they desire. Show people how to solve a problem, or explain a simpler, cheaper or quicker way for them to get a certain result, and they will naturally look to you as a useful resource in future.

2. Publish articles about important topics in your ebook. A well written article published in an ezine or article directory is a common way for people to learn about you. The author's bio that appears at the end of the article can steer readers to a blog or Web page where they can find out more about what you do.

3. Make a preview available to prospective buyers. It is a simple matter to prepare a preview of your ebook for potential buyers to download and check out before placing an order. You will significantly improve the chance of making a sale if you first allow interested parties to sample your product.

4. Use it to generate leads and capture opt-ins. In exchange for a name and email address you can give away your ebook as a gift. This helps you to build a list of pre-qualified prospects that you can followup with later to offer related items. It also exposes your product to an ever-expanding sphere in your marketplace.

5. Repackage the original information in a different format. The content of your ebook can be reformatted and offered as a multi-part course that is accessible by email, teleconference or exclusive Web site. And you can charge significantly more for this.

6. Establish yourself as an expert in your field. Publishing an ebook will give readers an indication of how much you know about your particular subject and how effective you are at sharing that knowledge. Once they preceive you to be an authority figure in your niche, they will gladly subscribe to your newsletter, join your forum and tell others about you.

The above represents a tiny handful of the many strategies that can be applied to get lots of mileage out of ebooks. With a little effort you can come up with other methods yourself.

But if you simply implement these six techniques on a regular basis, you will be astounded at the tremendous impression they will have on your business growth, your reputation and your earnings.

It\'s high time that corporate should cut down their huge advertising expenses and stop charging them ultimately from the consumers on the price of the product or service they sell. Since day one, all those fancy commercials which we see on Television, Newspapers, Magazines, Journals etc. incurs heavy costs to the advertisers which in turn compensates from the public consumers by charging more price on the products or services sold.

It is well understood that advertising or publicity of a product or service is quite necessary to s
read the awareness of its availability or existence and how will it be beneficial to the consumer public. It may be okay during good times in the past where the economy was growing and everyone was affordable to pay whatever the price of the product or service. Starting an internet marketing business can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. Firstly, you need guidance. Now this can obtained through various means. There are numerous packages that are being sold. Some which are extremely valuable in content, others which frankly are written purely to line the author's pockets.

So how do you differentiate between the two?

It's simple. Spend some time doing some research. You can obtain some very good and FREE information just by going to your search eng
ne and typing in what you are looking for. You will need to allot a fair bit of time to this, but if you are on a budget, this is the wisest way to find your way around the internet. There are many article sites, forums and newsletter sites to browse and you'll find that one piece of information will lead to another. You'll be amazed at just what you can learn.

Once you are savvier with what's involved I would advise you to invest some money in your own personal development. If you decide to be guided by someone of experience and want to buy their information, don't jump straight in, go and join internet forums and seek advice there. Reviews are done regularly on different products and this is an excellent way in choosing the right product for your needs.

So where do you start?

There are basically 3 steps that you will need to follow to get started.

Step 1. Become an affiliate. Affiliate marketing is selling someone else's product for them. There are several benefits to marketing this way.

  1. You don't need to buy, or produce your own product.
  2. You don't need to handle the shipping of the product.
  3. You don't need to deal with any money transfers.
  4. You get paid very healthy commissions on a regular basis for selling the product.

There are many affiliate sites that are FREE to join and will connect you with a product you are interested in selling. It is really easy to do and you can get started straight away.

Step 2. Get your name out there!

There are a number of reasons why you need to start getting known. Building a relationship with the public is paramount. It's not enough that you have a good product to sell. The most important factor in this business is trust. To get the customer on your side and set you apart from the thousands of other people doing the same as you is to gain their trust. If people trust YOU they will buy from YOU!

How do you do this?

Well you have to take the softly softly approach. Give them good and honest information about your product. Don't try the hard sell. Yes, you may strike lucky a few times through the law of averages, but as a rule of thumb, people don't like to feel that they are being bullied.

The best and cheapest way to get known is to post articles on specialist article sites. These are totally FREE and an unbelievable way of spreading your word virally. Webmasters look on them for good content to put on their sites. Once posted on their sites, you have the benefit of search engines picking up your links, (which if you had to pay per click for you own ad, could cost you huge amounts of money!) and all of this is totally FREE!

Step 3. Create a campaign to establish a relationship with your generated leads.

The leads generated via your article are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. They have read your article and want to find out more. This is your opportunity to start building a relationship with them by sending them a series of friendly helpful emails. By applying this technique, you will be gaining their confidence in you, therefore rocketing your chances of making a sale. After all, we all like to buy from someone we like!

The techniques that I just talked about are great for getting a lot of people to sign up for your list, but there is a better method. The method I'm talking about is selling your own product. You simple set up a page where they are redirected to after they make a purchase.

On this page is your sign up forum. Simply say that in order to get the product that they bought, simply leave your name and e-mail address. Just make sure to give them an option to get your product without signing up for your list.

It's really unethi
al not to give people that option. They bought your product, but they still must be able to get your product without signing up for your list. Some people are repeat customers and they are already signed up for your list. For more details www.confessions-followup-marketing.com They need a way to buy and not sign up for the list again, an error will come up if they give you the same e-mail address twice. Now on to the reasons why this is the best method to use to build a mailing list. One is that you're making money selling your product, while building your list. Some people don't like to put in the time to build a list because they get sick of writing all these free products and giving them away, in order to, build their list. Everyone needs to support themselves while they are building their list.

Another reason and probably the most important reason is the quality of the list that you build with this technique. It doesn't do any good to have a huge list of people that won't buy from you. You can boast a 10,000 person list, but if you only get a hand full of sales from it, it doesn't matter how big it is. Building list this way ensures you that you have some buyers on your hands, not just freebie seekers. More importantly, you have people that have bought from you in the past and will probably buy from you in the future. Repeat business is hugely important to anyone that wants to be successful selling their own products.

Another reason why it's so good is because if you create your own products, you're going to sell them anyways. Why not kill two birds with one stone? For more details www.craigs-list-profits.com You can sell and build your list at the same time with no extra effort given to build your list. The quality of the product and the price are going to be vitally important. Let me first say that whatever you price your products at, always give them this option to sign up to your list.

The best thing to do is create this great product and sales page. Then completely over-deliver, remember that you're building a list and if you over-deliver it's going to really pay off in the long-run.

You must always look to the future and keep the end result in mind at all times. They are going to be much more willing to buy from you over and over again in the future. I've had customers tell me that they will buy anything that I release. I have always provided great products and great value to my customers and they certainly remember your name and products the next time you release one.

Search engine optimization sounds so daunting for most young companies. Who has time for dealing with metatags and keyword density when you're trying to get a company off the ground? Below is a simple list of five things you can easily do to improve your visibility on search engines.

1. You can afford free. Index your site with the Open Directory Project. It's free! The Open Directory Project powers core directory services for Google, Lycos, AOL Search, Netscape Search, and lots more.

2. Know thyself
hrough thy customers' eyes. Remember that the words you use to describe your company are not necessarily the same ones that a prospect might use. Sometimes you need to go with the masses when it comes to keywords. Review your keyword list (if you have one), and see if your prospects would even think to search for them. You might even want to (gasp!) ask your customers about what keywords they use.

3. Stay on the up-and-up. Don't cram your keyword tag with dozens of keywords or repeating keywords. It doesn't work. Use 10 to 12 good, applicable keywords.

4. Put it in the Flash can. Don't let your web designer talk you into a Flash intro. Not only will everyone skip it because it's annoying and doesn't provide much in terms of information, it will stop the search engine spiders that crawl your site dead in their tracks.

5. Be more than a welcome mat. Develop unique titles for each of your pages. These titles appear at the top of the web browser window when your prospects or potential investors check out your site. So please, don't use, "Welcome to XYZ Company." This tells them nothing of value, except maybe that you have manners. Use the title to tell what you do, what problem you solve, and/or what the particular page is about. We're only talking about a handful of words per page (10 max), so it's not as painful as it might sound.

If you sell downloadable products (via ClickBank, PayPal, etc.), you need to be sure that no-one can access those products unless they've paid for them.
It's no secret that there are many people out there who will try to get to your download pages without paying for your product or, worse again, will make your download links available for free to others.

So what can you do to prevent this from happening?

Here are a few tips that won't provide 100% protection, but will ensure that the majority of users will not
be able to easily access and steal your products.

1. NAMING YOUR DOWNLOAD PAGE

If you name your download page something like 'thankyou.html' or 'download.html' then it's a pretty simple process for the average hacker to locate your page and download your product. Give your download pages a complicated name that is neither easy to guess, easy to remember nor easy to recognize.

2. CREATE 'NESTED' DIRECTORIES

In keeping with point number 1, this is just a question of making it more difficult for the average hacker to find your download pages.

Let's say you're selling an ebook called "How to Make Your Hamster Happy". Now, let's say you're selling it at this URL: http://www.yourdomainname.com/happyhamster.

In this example, your sales page is contained in the directory called 'happyhamster'.

Now, rather than store your download page in this same directory, you can make life more difficult for the hacker by creating sub-directories (or 'nested' directories) for your download page.

Just create a sub-directory inside 'happyhamster' called, for example, 'srB45n' and another directory inside that one called 'trd12s' (or whatever) and then place your download page inside this directory. In this scenario, your download page would be contained at this, more hidden, address: http://www.yourdomainname.com/happyhamster/srB45n rd12s

Another approach is to place your download page directory in a separate place altogether on your server - thus making it even more difficult for a hacker to track it down.

3. CREATE AN INDEX.HTM PAGE FOR EVERY FOLDER

If you don't have a page called 'index.htm' in the directory that contains your download page, then your host server will display a page listing the contents of that directory.

Here's an example of a directory that doesn't have an 'index.htm' page: http://bizzydays.com/example. As you can see, the contents of the directory are there for all to see (and download).

Your 'index' page can be a regular page from your site or you can make it re-direct the visitor somewhere else. You can see this idea in action by visiting http://bizzydays.com/free. As you can see, when you try to access that directory, you're immediately re-directed to the BizzyDays.com home page.

To create your own re-direct page, simply paste the following HTML code into Windows Notepad (or your web-editing software) and save it as 'index.htm' or 'index.html'. Now upload it to the folder you wish to protect.

<.html>
<.head>
<.meta HTTP-EQUIV="refresh"
content="0;URL=FULL_ADDRESS _HERE">
<.meta name="robots" content="noindex">
<.title>
<./head>
<.body>
<./body>
<./html>

NOTE: I've placed dots (.) after the "<" in all the lines above. This is to ensure that the code shows up properly here. When using this on your web page, remove those dots. NOTE: Be sure to replace the URL with the address you want to re-direct the visitor to.

4. HIDE YOUR DOWNLOAD PAGES FROM THE SEARCH ENGINES

It's amazing how many download pages you'll find via the search engines if you put your mind to it. In fact, one search I just ran on Google turned up two download pages on the first page of results (albeit both from the same website).

To get around this, you need to ensure that the search engines do not include your download pages in their index.

To do this, just place the following snippet of code between the <.head> and <./head> tags at the top of your download page's HTML...(again, remove the dot)

<.meta name="robots" content="nofollow,noindex">

5. PROTECT YOUR PAYPAL ORDER BUTTONS

PayPal is a great service but it has a gaping security hole that affects anyone selling downloadable products.

When you sell via PayPal, even the most amateur of hackers can find out the location of your download page just by looking at the HTML code on your sales page.

One way around this is to use HTML encryption software to render the HTML of your sales page un-readable. While this will stop the majority of hackers, the more determined ones will probably be able to crack the code.

Another approach is to use specialized software like 'PayLock Generator' (http://bizzydays.com/paypal) which creates highly encrypted PayPal order buttons that are very difficult to crack.

6. CHANGE YOUR DOWNLOAD LINKS OFTEN

This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you've followed the steps outlined above, then you've gone some way towards protecting your digital products. It's not 100% protection, however, which is why I recommend changing your download links regularly. This will help ensure that, if someone does manage to access your products, and has been leaving your download links on forums or whatever, then you'll be able to cut them off.

7. PUT A STATEMENT ON YOUR EBOOK

If someone is giving your ebook away for free, it's not a given that everyone who downloads it will be as dishonest as the one giving it away. It's a good idea to place a prominent statement inside your ebook explaining that it's not a free ebook. Ask readers to contact you if they received the ebook for free explaining where they downloaded it. You might consider offering a small 'reward' for taking the time to contact you.

Okay, those are the basic steps you can (and should) take to protect your downloads. If you're worried that this isn't enough, then you'll find some additional resources below that really go the extra mile. (I use these myself so I can testify to their worth).

Just one final point... after you make the changes outlined above, be sure to double-check everything is working okay.

it is important that you periodically check to see if your products or services are easy to access and buy. If they aren't, it could mean that your website is not effective enough, and that it is time to think of a website redesign.

It is quite obvious for an online businessperson to have a website and internet presence to succeed in the business. However, it is important that you periodically check to see if your products or services are easy to access and buy. If they aren't, it could mean that your website is not effective enough, and that it is time to think of a website redesign.

If you have a business where your site has increased in size considerably over the years, you have to find out if the website still meets your needs. The addition of information to the site means you have to consider redesigning of the website for re-organization of data, and perhaps elimination of some information. Sometimes, you may also need to add some multimedia information like audio and video to help improve the effect of your message.

Improved site navigation

Another reason for a website redesign is ineffective site navigation. Sometimes as you add content to the pages, you find that the important information of the site lands up buried in the site and difficult for a surfer to access. With redesigned website, you can arrange website content systematically so that surfers have no problem reaching your content.

If your site requires the latest content on the site, you may have to make a website redesign to get rid of outdated data. You may have to revise spec sheets, change all promotional dates and if required, add some new material every week. Remember that a static looking website creates the impression that you are not serious about your business.

Remember that a well made website design gives any business a corporate identity in the business world. So if you have added new products or have changed the focus of your services, you will have to go into a website redesign to get a new home page design. Only then will you be able to get the depth and breadth of your current business across to your customers.

Use of better technology in the website redesign

Computer technology is changing and improving every other month. So if you had created your website 1-2 years ago, you will most likely need a technology update for your website. This is possible through a website redesign, especially if you had started your website using a very basic site with hard coding of everything.

Whatever the reason for your website redesign, it is better to go into a redesign by doing some prior research. You will have to get some information about the needs and demands of target audience through usability tests, feedback from visitors and online surveys. This way, you will be able to get ideas for a better website redesigning.

Remember that though you will be redesigning your website, don't just scrape away the old website. Keep the old design as a backup folder to be loaded in case the new design fails to generate website traffic. With these thoughts in mind, you may as well have a website redesign done to generate increased traffic and better business for your online business.

Have you fallen prey to one or more perverted predators, selling you their latest "get rich quick" scam? Do you want to learn how to avoid that very unpleasant experience?

Overview

Why are we vulnerable to Internet scam-artists? The numbers of Internet users are increasing dramatically, and this incredible growth attracts all types, including scam-artists. It is imperative that you learn to protect yourself.

It boggles the mind the number
of people that are now using the internet. As of January 2008, according to Internet World Stats, there are over 1.4 billion Internet world users and over 246 million of them are in North America.

During the last 8 years, the numbers of users has grown by 127.9% in North America and by 290% in the world. The present numbers of users only make up 21% of the world population.

Can you imagine what lies ahead?

What Are Scam-Artists

With this tremendous internet user growth, of course, summons both the good and the evil. Unfortunately, scam-artists have wormed their way into the internet. You may have even fallen prey to one or more of these perverted predators, selling you their latest "get rich quick" scam.

The dictionary's definition of scam is "a ploy by a shyster to raise money, a fraudulent business scheme, deprive by deceit".

In the Internet world, the word scam-artist to me is best described as one who attempts to intentionally mislead a person or persons into buying a worthless product for the sole purpose of taking their limited supply of money.

Elie Wiesel said, "There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest".  We must protest against those who deceive us.

How To Protect Your Self From Scam-Artists

To identify a reputable website operated by an honorable owner/merchant, your undivided attention is required.

Remember the old adage - Do not Judge the Book by Its Cover.  Well, it applies when you are selecting a merchant.  You need to judge the website, judge the company behind the website and listen to your feelings and impressions operating at your subconscious level.

Secrets Of A Reputable Website

To judge the website, you ask yourself does the website look professional. To make this determination, you look for the following:

  • Does the website format to your screen;
  • Does it redirect to another website;
  • Does it take to long to load;
  • Does it have an intro before the real page;
  • Does it have auto play videos without closer;
  • Does it consist of only test pages;
  • Does it show loading bars;
  • Does it show very uninformative text;
  • Does it show mostly ads on top;
  • Does it include sound without closer;
  • Does it contain broken links;
  • Does it have spelling and grammatical errors;
  • Is it not easy to navigate;
  • Does it have unorganized pages;
  • It does not state price until ordering;
  • The ordering is not quick and efficient.

If the website has, any of the above, then by now your elevated antennae should be resonating.

What Is Hidden Behind A Reputable Website

The second part of the equation is to obtain a sense of who is selling you the product. A short description of the person and a photo is helpful.

If it is a company, then a link to "About Us" is very useful especially if it provides history and who is involved in the company. To acquire a better sense of what is behind the site, gather the following:

  • Look on the website for one or more of the logos issued after submission and close scrutiny of the site by Truste, BBonline.com and Better-Internet-Bureau;
  • Make sure there is a privacy policy; read it and determine if it is vague or indecisive;
  • If user information is required, does the policy state exactly how your information is going to be used and will the forth coming email from the owner or merchant have an opt-out mechanism;
  • Make sure there is an owner or merchant's contact page. Does this page provide the merchants address, email and phone number;
  • Search for an unbiased reviews. Do not just rely on testimonials. Best place to obtain 3rd party review is to check latest reviews on forums. If you are dealing with a company and not an individual, check the BBB (Better Business Bureau);
  • See if the product owner offers a fact page (FAQ). Is the fact page helpful;
  • Send an email and see how long it takes the owner to respond or does the owner respond at all;
  • Ask the owner how often the product is updated and if future updates are free;
  • If the product is digital, check the products owners' status on ClickBank and if is not digital, check the owner's status on Commission Junction.

How To Listen To Your Inner Self

The third part of the equation is to listen to your inner self. To listen to you feelings and impressions operating at your subconscious level, you need to ignore the constant analyzing, rationalizing and out right arguing your conscious mind does to stop you from relying on your inner voice.

Dr. Martin Luther King Junior said, "Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole stair case, just the first step". Your first step of faith is listening to your inner self.

Dr. Ronald C. Bissel of Self Growth says that each time you listen to the wisdom of your voice, you are given new insight and are taken deeper into the spiritual aspects of your consciousness. Your inner voice creates a connection with your Creator that transcends our physical world. Understanding its value in your life will lead you into a deep level of trust.

How does this apply to buying a product from a reputable website? Your first impression of a Sales Page should not be your only guiding light. It may have the right colors, say all the right things and have great testimonials, but before you buy, be a diligent shopper.

Just to reiterate. Conduct an intensive observation on how the website looks, how organized is it and is the website functional and efficient. Then investigate as to what is behind the website. How reputable is the merchant and what do third party opinions say about the product and merchant. Then, of course, listen to your inner voice. Remember, your money matters, so be prudent purchasers.

Tom Panelas is the Director of Corporate Communications of the Encyclopaedia Britannica

Q: Would you agree that the Britannica and the Encarta cater to different market segments and that the Britannica provides more in-depth coverage of its topics while the Encarta is a more complete, PC-orientated reference experience? If so, what is the market positioning of the Britannica's Elementary and Student Encyclopedias?

TP: The most important thing about Britannica's Ultimate Reference Suit
is that is has three encyclopedias -- one for every reading level - and therefore can be used profitably by the whole family. So, yes, the Encyclopaedia Britannica itself is the more comprehensive encyclopedia, but realize also that the Ultimate Reference Suite also has Britannica Student Encyclopedia, created for the same age range as Encarta, and Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia, for younger readers.
So our positioning is that Britannica serves you from grade school to graduate school and beyond.

Q: Both encyclopedias offer an embarrassment of riches. Users find the wealth and breadth of information daunting and data mining is fast becoming an art form. Encarta introduced the Visual (Virtual) Browser and Britannica introduced the BrainStormer to cope with this predicament. Are there any improvements - or alternative solutions - planned in future editions?

TP: The 2006 edition will include search enhancements to BrainStormer. They're under development right now, so I don't have too many details. We also have some unique indexing systems that underlie the structure of the Britannica database, which our indexers have been at work on for years. We expect these to be the basis of some powerful search and
browse applications in the years ahead.

Q: How does your product strike a balance between browsing and research? Is one activity encouraged over the other?

TP: Most people like to do keyword searching, so we try to keep that working sharply, but we have also tried to introduce as many other ways to access information as possible, such as subject browse, index browse, atlas, timelines, and BrainStormer. People have different learning styles and different preferences for how to find information. We try to indulge all of them.

Q: The Encarta and the Britannica offer competing models for interacting with the Internet. Both offer updates - the Encarta weekly or bi-weekly and the Britannica 2-4 times a year. Both provide additional and timely content and revisions on dedicated Web sites. But the Encarta conditions some of its functions - notably its research tools and updates - on registration with its Plus Club. The Britannica doesn't. Are you considering a change in your approach?

TP: We're not.

Q: The Encarta incorporates numerous third-party texts and visuals (including dozens of Discovery Channel videos, hundreds of newspaper articles, and a plethora of Scientific American features). The Encarta's multimedia offerings are also impressive with thousands of video and audio clips, maps, tables, and animations. The Britannica provides considerably more text. Is the Britannica planning to follow suit or will it remain mainly text based?

TP: Well, I wouldn't say we're "mainly" text based - we have added a lot of multimedia over the years, and we've won some awards for our multimedia - but we will continue to offer comprehensive information for all ages. When you come down to it, the information that really matters in reference works is words. We'll continue to add multimedia as well, space permitting, but covering a topic thoroughly and properly comes first.

Q: Will the Encarta/Britannica integrate with new desktop search tools from Google, Microsoft, and others?

TP: Yes, that's a priority for 2006.

Q: In the editorial process, how do you cope with contemporary and recent developments, minority-sensitive issues, and controversial topics (such as abortion and gay rights)?

TP: This question calls for a treatise of its own. We have advisers all over the world consisting of the top scholars and experts in all fields, and with their help we try to bring reason and evidence to bear on developing the best approximation of truth that is humanly possible. Yes, it's hard work, because people disagree on many things, but it can be done reasonably well if you're determined. We strive to the extent possible for coverage that are universal - that is, it takes all major perspectives around the world into account and does not favor one "civilization" over another. One thing we insist on in all of our encyclopedias, regardless of language or what country they are published in, and that is that coverage of a topic be consistent everywhere. Like our eighteenth-century forebears, we believe that there is such a thing as truth and it is possible for humans to know it. Creating an encyclopedia is one of the ways humans do that. So we don't have different "truths," plural, for different countries or markets. We don't pander to local sensitivities or myths by covering a topic one way in one country and a different way in another.

Q: What features cater to the needs of challenged users, such as the visually-impaired?

TP: Most of the navigational features for which most people use the mouse have keyboard equivalents. We plan to do more in this area. We have concentrated in recent years on making our school and library products compliant with the U.S. Americans With Disabilities Act because the demand for this in that area is so strong. We are now turning to doing similar things with our consumer products.

Q: The atlas, dictionary, and thesaurus incorporated in both products are outdated. Why not use a more current - and dynamically updated - offering? What about dictionaries for specialty terms (medical or computer glossaries, for instance)?

TP: Sam, Can you give me examples of outdated dictionary information? We haven't seen much demand from our customers in specialized dictionaries.

Q: Both encyclopedias consume (not to say) hog computer resource far in excess of the official specifications. This makes them less suitable for installation on older PCs and on many laptops. The Mackintosh interfaces are also clunky. How can and will these limitations be tackled?

TP: We plan to improve speed and performance in 2006, especially for Mac, since we seem to be the only ones these days with a Mac version.

Have you ever been a victim of a virus attack? I have. Several times infact. I'll try to explain a way to spot these kind of computer diseases. Maybe is your computer running slow, or it seems to be loosing files or folders, or you happen to notice that your personal settings for your programs change without your help. Maybe you don't think much over it, and just correct them to what you like them to be. Well, you could be pretty sure that these settings doesn't change themselves.

So, if you didn't change them,
hen somebody else did. Or a virus. A little piece of software has sneaked in through your computers backdoor, and begins to follow the exact instructions its creator(s) gave it. In some cases it could be to make trouble for you by deleting files you might need sometime in the near future. Your system could work properly, without any errors and you won't even notice that anything is wrong with your computer. But one day you get repeated error messages, or you experience problems to run certain programs you use. Or you maybe you notice that you have lost documents or other files that you use, and you are 100% possitive that you did not delete or move them. This is when you could be atleast 99% sure that someone, or something is disturbing your system. In most cases this happens to be a computer disease in form of a virus infection.

Therefore it is very important to protect yourself and your system against viruses. I bet you don't want your work to take the triple amount of time because your computer is running slow, or to even disappear entirely from the face of the earth. A good thing to practice when you use your computer as a workstation is to take backups of your work. And I must urge you to store files or folders on a separate disk in addition to your main drive. (For example you save your work to your computers harddrive, and then burn it over to a cd, or copy it to a flash disk. In the case of a virus infection you could atleast be able to save your work if your computer is wasted. So, remember backup.

This brings us over to another aspect of viruses. That is about the highly destructive ones. Most of them are stopped by anti virus software before they gets to spread too much. But some of them are really tricky and surprises a huge number of users and systems before it is taken care of. The companies that develop anti virus software always have to look for new viruses, because hundreds and even thousands of new ones are created every day. Every minute someone on this planet are focusing their energy on one thing. Guess what.

?! The making of a new disease they can spread around the globe. This is why I ask the question; Is viruses pure fun or pure evil?My personal guess is: None of the above. I think there is a combination of the really old part of mankinds mentality that is to fight or cause troubleif we are pissed about something, and the creative minds that construct these sicknesses to make trouble for most people possible. They get the feeling of having the upper hand, and that they have done some damage. The only problem for them is that virus creators won't see the despair in your eyes when you realize that you have lost your latest week of work because of their creating. The only thing they can do is to monitor the global expand of the infection, and look at statistics on number of infections, computer crashes and so on. But mostly I think they are just having a really good time just by knowing that a lot of people are suffering huge losses after they did a "good job", because this was their intend in the first place. To conclude this little article I feel that I have to explain to you once more the importance of a proper anti virus solution installed on your system, backups of the things you care about, and that you know that some viruses are a joke, but some will really cause you serious trouble. By visiting the website link below you will find more useful information about viruses, and other threats that exists online. There are also a collection of quality protection software at very reasonable prices.

A paid survey is a great way to move out of the corporate world and into a home based business.  Many advantages come along with choosing to do this type of work.

Work at home

Turning in a paid survey from your home and getting a check or other monetary compensation from your completed work seems like a very profitable way to work at home.  You reduce or eliminate many of the expenses associated with going off to work each day to an office or factory job and the work can be quite easy to ac
omplish.  There is no special training or educational level required to do the work.  You can do as many or as few of the income producing surveys as you wish. You don't need to dress up for the work unless you want to do so.

Work in your spare time

When you work at a paid survey, you don't have to work more than a few hours per week in order to make a good living.  Just pick out a few of the surveys each day to complete prior to your commute or after the kids are in bed for the night and you will add much needed income to your monthly revenue.  If you just want to add income to the household budget for a stay-at-home parent, this type of income is a great answer for many people.

Work full time and schedule your hours

Whether you work full time or part time doing a paid survey job at home, you have the option of working only when you want to do so.  You don't have to be on the job at 8 am each morning, and are not required to fight the 5 pm commuter traffic in order to get home each evening. Actually, a full time job can usually be accomplished in just a few hours each day.  You can hit the surveys hard during the first two or three days each week and enjoy weekends that begin on Thursday each week.

Earn good income

The income you receive from a paid survey will vary according to the type of survey, the company that is commissioning the questionnaire and the length of time that is required to answer the questions. It is not unusual to receive $3 to $5 per survey.  Longer panel studies requiring more time can pay $75 for your time. Sometimes surveys are paid in products or product coupons that you can redeem either through the mail or at a local merchant.  Another way to get paid for completed surveys is through the accumulation of points at a clearinghouse site that offers some nice payouts for points

No financial investment required

When you elect to do a paid survey, it's not like other work at home opportunities--there is no fee charged up front for you to receive your survey.  Instead, it's a straight trade, your time for cash or products.  You won't have to pay for special equipment or supplies--all the information and activity takes place online.  If you have a computer with internet access, you can do this type of work easily.  You can be started within a few minutes after making the decision to begin work.

Whether your planning a link campaign or looking after your own web site, link building has always been one of the most important aspects of SEO. Gareth Davies offers another Seven Red Hot Tips for Linking to help you get the most from your link campaign.

1. Vary the keywords in your link 'anchor' text

Unless you provide only one product or service the chances are you will want to rank for many key phrases. One way to help achieve this objective is to change the link text you want all new sit
s to use periodically. Vary the anchor text slightly each time and by doing so you can cover more of your targeted key phrases. This approach can help your site rank for many keywords rather than just one or two.

If you do only provide one product or service on your web site it is still important to vary anchor text. If you sell 'blue widgets' then you could also use link text like 'cheap blue widgets' or 'blue widget store'. This means your links take on a more natural feel and are much less likely to be penalised or filtered out by search engines for being 'fake links'.

2. Set up your link information differently - create a link in context

Typically people set up their link information in a very similar way, however you could offer your link information with the hyperlink inside the description instead of at the beginning.

Imagine this is a description about your web site on a partner's link page. Instead of a typical hyperlink followed by a description you could write a sentence describing your web site and then place your descriptive hyperlink inside it.

One reason for doing this is that it reads more naturally and search engines may value the link higher as it reads more like a narrative. Many webmasters will be happy to accept this style even if some do not. To cover yourself offer the link in context as a second option along with your regular link information, that way if some sites can't support the layout you still get your link.

3. Vary where your links point

Try to vary where link partners point to on your site. It's fine to have the majority of links pointing into your home page, however it can be beneficial to have some links pointing to other key pages on your web site as well. Taking this approach balances out your linking and can help raise the profile of more pages on your web site.

4. How to find potential link partners from your competitors

If a web site links to your competitors it may also link to yours, and in order to find these potential link partners you can use search engines. Not so long ago Google was useful for getting a lot of back link information about a site. Recently Google's back link data is a lot less forthcoming and it now tends to show only a tiny percentage of the sites that are linking combined with a lot of internal link data. Whether the few web sites Google shows us are the ones it finds important or whether they are in fact red herrings we cannot say for certain. I would assume the latter.

Currently Yahoo is a better portal to check for backlinks. To generate a list of linking web sites on Yahoo simply go to http://www.yahoo.com and type the following into the Yahoo search bar.

linkdomain:www.mycompetitorwebsite.com

This will deliver up to date link information as read by Yahoo. The only downside with the information is that one site may appear many times if it is giving multiple links.

5. Alternate your description text

This is often overlooked, but there is no real advantage to be had if the description text supporting your inbound links is always identical. To avoid the possibility of a description ever being seen as 'duplicate content' alternate it when you can. If you combine it with varied anchor text [as in tip 1] you're heading in the right direction.

6. Link to good related content from your web site

It seems like an obvious thing to say, but with so many people caught up in link exchanging you sometimes wonder if we're losing site of the basics. If you have something useful to say on your site and can back it up with a useful link to another web site then do so. Not every link has to be reciprocated. This resourceful linking will allow your visitors to read around the subject. Linking to informative related content is useful for visitors and search engines quite like it too.

7. Seek out directory links

Links from good web directories can be some of the best links you can get for your web site. How are your customers finding you? Do you advertise locally? Are you on the internet? Are you listed in the phone book? Or do you just keep your fingers crossed hoping someone will walk by your storefront, realize they need your product and stop in for a sale? If you are like many companies today, you rely on the internet as a secondary contact point for your customers to find you - but how do you know they are looking for you? Do they know where to look?

As a seasoned marketer and a certified Search Engine Optimization and Internet M
rketing Expert, I have learned and experienced the benefits of knowing how to properly and effectively benefit from positioning my products and services on the internet. Experiencing what a "human" salesperson can do for me and seeing what having my website perform as a 24-7-365 sales person, I have significantly experience the growth in my bottom line sales and have quickly realized that positioning my website to be effective is Much more cost effective than building a team of "human" droids to peddle my products and services. If you want to quickly increase your sales and your overall net bottom line you will really benefit from reading this introduction article on why and how you and your business can optimize your business potential by properly positioning your products and services on the internet.

Generally, when a customer searches on the internet for a product - they search the product category - not the business name (unless they have previously come into contact with the name of your business). Or they may know your business name, but maybe your website URL is different. Are you a .com, a .ca or a.net? The process of search engine optimization can help you to increase traffic to your website on general topic searches through the use of effective keywords. Although, the topic of search engine optimization can be complex there is a certain process you can follow to help you preparing your website to getting on the right track for optimal optimization!!! Are you ready to optimize your business potential? Follow these three easy steps: Site review, keyword search, and competitor search.

For website review, you simply review the site map of your website. What are the contents that you have on your website and the relevancy to your business? Remember that you stand a better chance increasing your page ranking by providing search engines with good quality content - so make all your page content count.

Once you are comfortable with the set up of your website - next begin to develop some keywords that you think your customer would type into a search engine to land on your page. This is where you are going to need to get your creative juices flowing. Try to avoid general overused keywords and go for more specific logical choices. For example: don't use the word insurance company when the search results for that keyword phrase are in the millions - try for something more specific and localized, or unique to your product, like Insurance brokers in California.

Lastly, whichever keywords or phrases you decide to implement in your web pages, you should always do a competitive search on the words you are using. If over a million websites contain the same phrase you risk getting lost and if your listed on search result page 22... chances are your potential customer has found another website. Also, research which pages are coming up in the results - take a few minutes and look at the top 8-10 results in a search and see if you can identify what these companies strategies were. Maybe they've used search engine optimization, but then again... maybe they didn't and it's just luck or another factor for their placement in the search results.

Optimize your business potential is not as easy as it may seem. Of course, these three steps are just the beginning to the process of Search Engine Optimization. And even these steps have steps within them. The process of search engine optimization can begin to get overwhelming if you are not familiar with the strategies of effective optimization. But when you get stuck, you can always look into a certified search engine optimization service (you'll know you've found the right one when you search for them and they are the number one search result).

Both affiliate marketing and network marketing pay people for referring a product or service. What then is the difference between affiliate marketing and network marketing?

The difference is best explained in terms of the way compensation is structured to pay for performance. Because of the many hybrid forms of compensation payments available now on the internet, to a newbie scouting for business opportunities, it is easy to get confused over the many terms and definitions used. In evaluating compensation plans, it is
essential to understand the subtle difference between the two models. Ultimately, you want to understand…which model yields more income?

What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is usually done online. In its simplest form, affiliate marketers are compensated on a one time transaction only. Unlike products offered in a MLM business, affiliate products are often ones that a customer would only need to purchase one time. Thus, the more the affiliate marketer sell, the more they make. This is quite akin to direct sales albeit made via the internet.

Affiliate marketing has a compensation plan based on performance measures. For instance, if the affiliate marketer is successful in the form of sales, clicks, registrations, etc, he/she gets rewarded. The desired action as a means of compensation is already pre-agreed upon by the affiliate merchant and him/her.

In a short space of time, the affiliate marketing model has also evolved to a 2 level (or in some cases, up to 5 levels) compensation plan. In the popular 2-tier version, for instance, you (as an affiliate of a particular e-book merchant) will earn commission when you sell a book to person A and if person A signs up to be an affiliate and manages to sell to person A1, you get compensated too, in addition to person A.

Let's now go on to talk about what network marketing is. In the network marketing model, the compensation plan works in a similar fashion, except that compensation by the sponsoring company can be paid up to several, several or unlimited levels. The number of levels and restrictions in terms of payout is very much dependent on the arrangement offered. As arrangements can vary from one company to the next, this makes comparisons of the various compensation plans available out there difficult. So be sure to read all the fine print!

At any level, a network marketer has the potential to earn a direct referral fee for directly recommending someone and a leverage fee when one of his/her "downlines" is successful for referring friends to the same network. In the popular binary plan adopted by many network marketing companies, each person in the network has two "legs" or "downlines". If more people get referred to the network, they automatically go below the "legs".

Ongoing customer use is what creates the real residual income in network marketing. The MLM business can generate earnings for a very long time even after the initial years of hard work and investment. With a solid network, residual income is assured at each renewal period of a "downline". If the product or service involved in is one that has to be reordered at each renewal period, income should just keep coming in like clock work.

How does the difference in affiliate marketing and network marketing translate into in terms of building your customer relationships and your earnings power? In the network marketing model, to ensure that your "downlines" renew at each period, you must ensure that you build up a good relationship with them. It is essentially a people-build-people and a leader-build-leader business. The ability to generate huge sums of money is increased exponentially when the network grows. The potential to make huge sums of money is thus greater here if you can employ the efforts of others to help grow the business vis-เ-vis the affiliate marketing model. In affiliate marketing, your earnings ability is limited by your own direct sales plus an additional of 1, 2 or up to 5 levels of leveraging efforts.

Having described the above, it would seem that to maximise your income, it is best to join online network marketing programs as opposed to affiliate programs.

Nope...I don't think that's really the case either.

Affiliate marketing is best described as an entry to online network marketing. Affiliate products are easier to sell, likely to involve one rather than an array of products and therefore, less expensive. For instance, an e-book is likely to have an associated affiliate program while access to a membership site of digital products is more likely to pay for recurrent renewals of membership.

In conclusion, there is always no harm in joining different programs whether affiliate or network marketing ones. Just be sure that you understand how you are paid and channel your efforts accordingly. Afterall, your goal is to build multiple sources of income. You have a choice to represent what or which combination of products/programs work best for yourself.

Have you ever thought of joining an online dating club to look for the love of your life but not so sure if it's for you? I believe in online dating clubs or site and I will tell you why I firmly believe it fits in with our modern day lifestyles. Few years ago online dating was regarded as a myth. Though some people were using the internet as a method of dating, they never discuss it with their friends or colleagues for fear of being reproved.

I remember a friend of mine who was embarrassed to tell me that she had joined an online
dating club. At the time, I was rather surprised at her move because she was an attractive girl who would be considered quite beautiful. However, after discussing with her I later understood why she had decided to try this method of dating; according to her she was just tired of meeting slackers who were only interested in sexual relationship and would not commit to a serious relationship.

However, when she went online, she met so many suitors though she has no desire to date some of the men who contacted her, there were quite a few she was interested in. In the course of her online dating she was able to establish a serious relationship with someone who lived 100s miles away from her. After the initial exchange of mails and photos and several hours of phone conversation, they decided to meet each other. And it was the beginning of a lasting love relationship that ended up in a marriage.

So if you are one of those who are not convinced that online dating works, I have listed 10 reasons why I believe this is the best.

1. With online dating, there are many fishes in the ocean as you have 1000s of partners to choose from.

2. If you are the shy type, you don't need to get dressed up wearing expensive perfume for a night out. You simply put on whatever you feel is comfortable and clean.

3. You can log on at any time of the day to suit your schedule if you work unusual hours. There is always someone online waiting to chat with you.

4. If you start dating someone and you find that they are not what you are seeking for, you can easily terminate subtly and choose another partner.

5. Membership of online dating club offers great opportunity of meeting different people even from different countries whether for friendship or love.

6. If you are single and looking to find a life partner from another location,you don't need to travel out from your location you simply go online and meet other singles who are also searching.

7. With online dating, gives you the time and opportunity to find out more about someone before arranging a date with them which is not so if you had met them in a bar or night club.

8. We now live and date very differently from past generations where the traditional place to meet people was in nightclubs, parties, at work or through friends. By joining an online site you are not excluding these avenues but simply extending your opportunities of meeting someone.

9.With online dating partner, you needn't wait until the weekend to meet your partner, you can always meet online, chatting and talking. Thanks to the power of internet.

10. Finally, a month's subscription costs less than a night out and gives you hundreds of opportunities to meet your perfect partner - every night!

That's exactly the message I feel I am getting every time I visit Dmoz.org to try and list another website into its directory. You visit the site, leave your directory submission (your message), and never hear from them! Yes, it takes a long time to have your website reviewed for submission and it gets you thinking if they are even home in the first place. I have had many questions and complaints about Dmoz and have tried to answer them as correctly as possible. But the common question is "when will they return my call?"
/p>

For those of you who are new to the term "Dmoz", it is the Open Directory Project which is the largest and most comprehensive human edited directory of the web. For your website to be accepted into Dmoz, it has to be reviewed by a human editor. If accepted, then your site is seen as a trusted source by search engines, especially Google. Combined with some SEO work, it will give you that extra boost within the rankings, however the only problem is that the editors take a long time to review the websites.

If you take a look at how many volunteer editors they have (71,816 last time I checked), compared to the number of website submissions they receive (we're talking hundreds and thousands of websites), then obviously it will take a long time for the editors to get around to yours. To add to that, theses editors work for free and each one is assigned to a certain category for reviewing websites. The worst case scenario, you have a new website that has just been submitted to a category with the least number of editors monitoring it, which explains the long waiting time (up to 2 years, if not longer).

When Dmoz first started (1998), it took no longer than 6 weeks to have you website listed into their directories. With demand now running high, the wait is a lot longer and editors are a lot more selective. Never the less, there is no need to get frustrated as there are alternatives to gaining links from a combination of other sources that are just as effective as a link from Dmoz. For instance, you can submit your website to various directories such as Yahoo! and find many other resources on the web on ways to improve your link popularity. If you perform any search and look at the top five websites, you will notice that in most cases these websites do not have a Dmoz listing. This shows that some ethical SEO work and incoming relevant link building will get you those desired ranks.

Having said all that, there is no need to wait for Dmoz to come around. All focus should be diverted on other ways to improve your search engine rankings. If you don't hear from Dmoz, then there is no reason to get frustrated on their lack of efficiency, for your goals can be much easily attained through other sources. On the other hand, if you do hear from Dmoz, take it with a smile and be sure to make good use of their listing with some search engine optimisation for your website.
